130 Lonsdale’s distinct, sleek sculptural design and skyrise terraces are unique in the Melbourne skyline and set a new benchmark for commercial development in the city and nationally. The building’s identity is expressed via a highly sculptural, curvaceous architectural form that responds thoughtfully to both the site’s heritage and skyline.

The idea of ’Bringing the City In’ to the site, led the design to making the public spaces useful and inviting and the site generally more permeable and welcoming. An aspect of this design involved the incorporation of a new meeting place for Melbourne, supporting a true urban community by providing a diversity of uses to create and activate the Town Square. Another element involved re-lifting the precinct by creating a city sanctuary, restoring and repurposing the adjacent heritage buildings and revitalizing the functional amenity of the entire site.

Designed to set new standards for sustainability innovation, 130 Lonsdale delivers a landmark commercial precinct and achieves outstanding environmentally sustainable. Market-leading performance ratings achieved include a 6-Star Green Star design and As-Built v1.1 rating, with the maximum 10 innovation points awarded. 5-Star NABERS Energy, 4.5-Star NABERS Water and a 4-Star NABERS Waste rating targeted and Platinum WELL certification.
